Metal Gear Rising Revengeance controller not working?

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance controller not working?

What to do if the controller is not working in Metal Gear Rising Revengeance?

If you just plug your controller on your PC and try using it in order to play Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, it will not work.
Even though the game is obviously designed to be played with a controller, either on consoles or on the PC.

In my case, I’ve found out that you can easily play the game with a controller, by using a third party software called “JoyToKey”.
First download the program from here, it is free to use.

Even though it might sound complicated, once you install and open the program, you will notice how easy it is to use and configure.
You can even use it for other games that you want to play on your PC, using your controller.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance controller map keys for JoyToKey

Open JoyToKey and configure the buttons in order to play Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.

Left: A
Right: D
Up: W
Down: S
B1: Space
B2: E
B3: Q
B4: Shift
B5: C
B6: Mouse: Left
B7: X
B8: H

Also, start Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and change the controls as it follows:

Tab: Walk
Space: Jump
Q: Light Attack
E: Strong Attack
T: Blade Mode
Shift: Ninja Run
C: Use Sub-weapon
Left mouse click: Fire Sub-weapon

Leave JoyToKey running while you start Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.
The controller will not work if you don’t run this program and keep it in the background, since it holds all they controller keybinds.

IF you are using a more expensive controller, like an Xbox One controller for the PC, once you connect the controller, it might work by default, no need to use this program or do any changes.
But for cheap no-name controller, you might need to use the “JoyToKey” program, as the controller will not work by default.
