Blizzard financial report 2012?

Blizzard has made public the financial statistics for 2012. The last year has been their best year in terms of revenue. Diablo 3 was the most sold video game for PC in 2012, in retail version.

Diablo 3 was sold in 10 million units in the first days, including the pre-orders. Two more millions have been sold after the first month until now.

12 million sold units x 50 euro = 600.000.000 euro profit. And this is without including their revenue from the “real money auction house” and the revenue generated by the marketing strategy with the World of Warcraft Annual Pass.

Blizzard has managed to slow the rate of players that quit World of Warcraft. Only 400.000 players have quit since Q4 of 2012. There are 9.6 million active subscribers worldwide. That means a revenue of 124.800.000 euro / month. Not including the revenue from different services like “character transfer” or selling virtual items.

A very important thing is that at the conference that revealed the financial statistics, Blizzard officials have declared that their company are working on a new MMO that will be revealed this year. Probably at Blizzcon. They didn’t said if is “Titan” or something else.
