This game demonstrates that Blizzard is not God and other companies can come up with games that are better than the Blizzard ones.
If you have played Final Fantasy 7 or 10, you instantly love Path of Exile because: the system for abilities is copied from Final Fantasy 7 and the skill system is copied from Final Fantasy 10.
1. The graphic style is reminding of old RPG games like Divine Divinity where skeletons really look like skeletons.
2. The animations and spell visuals are fun. They strongly fit in the environment. That “ground slam” looks so cool.
3. The story is interesting enough to motivate the player to solve the quests, not just grind maps for no reason except gaining XP.
4. The possibility to choose the weapon specialization. For example, for the Marauder class, either mace, axe or sword. It gives variety and the sort of feeling that you are customizing your character as you like.
5. Not having an auction house is great because you feel that the game is free from the technical aspect and you are just playing it for fun.
6. No “nephalem system” or other constrains. That is the worst thing that is implemented in Diablo 3 for me because I constantly “alt-tab” and I guess others are doing the same.
7. The chat and having to see other players in “towns”. This aspect is just well made.
PoE can be compared to Diablo 3 in many aspects but I won’t do it. What is certain is that both games are very fun and well made.
What is your opinion? Anything particularly that you like in Path of Exile?
