Razer Synapse update stuck, failed, not working?

The latest update for Razer Synapse 2.0 is causing some problems.

First of all, the update takes much longer than usual and it will feel that your PC is getting stuck.

Also, you won’t be able to move your mouse cursor at some point during the update.

Do not restart your PC even if it looks like it’s stuck.

If you have restarted your PC and you cannot move the mouse cursor, you will need another non-razer mouse in order to operate the PC. Plug it in, you will be able to move the mouse cursor. Ask a friend to borrow you a mouse or buy the cheapest one.

Launch Razer Synapse, settings (the top wheel) > check for updates.

Start making the update. Restart the PC and after that you should be able to use your Razer mouse, Razer keyboard etc.

If you notice during the update, Razer is rewriting the mouse and keyboard drivers and that is causing your mouse and keyboard not to work.

Another thing, if your sound is not working after the update, write “sound” from start > search box (Windows 7). If you see anywhere “Razer Surround”, right click it, disable it and restart your PC. The problem with the sound should be fixed.
