Why I think the pet battles from World of Warcraft are a waste of time? Subjective views.
Here are a few reasons
You don’t get better if you play more. I mean for PVP battles, playing in the level 23-25 range will feel very unbalanced. Pets that can kill other pets in 2-3 moves, pets with unbalanced abilities. Basically, there is no skill involved and if you have the “wrong” pets, you can’t do much. Besides this, after you lose a fight where you obviously have no real chance against a comp, you queue again and you get the same opponent for 2-3 times. Is just no fun at all.
Second reason is that besides achievements, there is no other reward for playing pet battles.
Gathering pets before Mists of Pandaria was fun, some of them were very hard to obtain, some required farming, some just gold. Now is just a killing time fest to catch them.
Fighting against random AI pets found in the world is pretty boring since these have poor skills, some are weaker, if you have 3 pets of level 25, you can catch any pet with no effort at all.
