To remove the Lavasoft toolbar, go to Control Panel and search for Ad-Aware.
This software is the actual “Lavasoft toolbar” protection.
Ad-Aware is a spyware removal software.
It seems that is also running a background shield that might block certain websites.
I had this issue with 4chan.org.
Even after trying to disable the shield, the Lavasoft toolbar would not allow me to load the website in the browser.
Uninstalling this software can cause some confusions because if you search for “Lavasoft” or “ad aware” under Windows 7, you won’t get any “uninstall” shortcuts as results.
