City Island is like the Sim City game for PC. Only that it has much less options and details.
You start with a small area that can expanded, you build houses and commercial buildings that will generate money. The money is generated over time and you will have to click to collect it.
This part where you have to click is a turn-off to be honest. To grow your city, there are no special strategies that you can apply, you just build, upgrade the buildings, earn money and unlock other buildings.
Not fun at all? One of the reasons to play this game is that is relaxing, the graphics are pretty good, cartoonish and eyecandy. Is fun to think about the best way to build the road and the buildings so your city to look pretty. A tip, you should build the commercial buildings in a row so you will be able to collect the money easier.
Another thing that I didn’t liked is that the touch has 1-2 seconds lag and you have the feeling that your command wasn’t registered.
Besides money (dollars), there is a second resource, the gold. Some buildings can only be built by spending gold. You can get gold by buying it with real money or by completing some achievements.
