So what is the best hunter PVP spec in 5.4.8?
The biggest change is that “Readiness” was removed.
And we got nothing as compensation except the small reduced cooldown for “Disengage” and the fact that now “Disengage” doesn’t require the player to be in combat, in order to use it.
Overall, I really like the “out of combat Disengage change”, I think it makes the gameplay more fun for hunters.
Survivability was highly nerfed with the loss of “Readiness”.
No more 2 disengages and 2 scatter/traps, “feign death” and all the other abilities to be used twice.
Best Hunter PVP spec 5.4.8
“Survival” and “Marksman” are pretty much the same thing in terms of gameplay.
“Survival” does more damage and has “Entrapment”.
“Marksman” has only the 5% heal from “Chimera Shot”.
“Beastmaster” is the same thing as before, except no more double “Bestial Wrath” and the fact that hunters are doing less damage now, it’s really frustrating to play this spec.
The best spec for now is “Survival”.
“Survival” is the spec with the most damage and it also has “Entrapment”.
The priorities should be: “Black Arrow” > “Explosive Shot” – landing a trap for lock and load (situational) > “Arcane Shot” > “Cobra Shot”.
Cast an “Arcane Shot” between Explosive Shots when you get lock and load but don’t be obsessive about it.
If the situation is critical, cast only “Explosive Shots”, even if you waste a tick or two.
You get lock and load from “Black Arrow” (randomly when the shot is applied on an enemy) and instant l&l from trapping an enemy with frost trap, freezing trap etc.
For talents, I personally replaced “Aspect of the Iron Hawk” with “Spirit Bond”.
Also, I’ve replaced “Thrill of the Hunt” with “Fervor” that seems to be the best choice at this time for Survival and Marksman.
What pet to use?
I got my Crane pet back, melee classes are much better now and the Crane’s sleep is a good defense.
I’ve tried arena, 3v3 and 2v2.
It seems that BM is better than survival or at least it has better burst than SV and that burst is much needed to score a kill.
