WordPress Cpu throttling?

WordPress Cpu throttling?

WordPress Cpu throttling can happen on your web server and the admins might bloc your website.

Here we have some info about this issue and how to avoid it.

I’ve found that WordPress comments can be an issue regarding “CPU Throttling”.

Your web host should have a folder that can be accessed by FTP: “tmp/mysql_slow_queries”

Check the latest .txt files from that folder.

I’ve found out that some of my WordPress blogs were heavily spammed by bots.

These bots were inserting comments on my blog.

Even if we ignore those comments, they are inserted into the SQL database and are consuming resources, making the blog to work slower than normal.

After I have disabled the comments on the blog, the CPU Throttling was reduced considerably.

In some extreme cases, you should install an anti-spam plugin for comments (besides Akismet), if disabling the comments feature is not an option.

You can delete all the spam comments within a click by using the plugin named “WP-Optimize”.

For most blogs, disabling the comments is not really an option as the comments are creating free content for the blog.
However, if your blog is under attacked by bots that leave comments, you can just disable the comments for a while until things calm down.

If your webhost is giving you notices that you need to optimize your website because the WordPress cpu throttling is causing server issues, then you definitely need to disable the comments for a couple of days.
