Sadly, Risen 1 contains a critical bug that will not allow you proceed to Chapter II.
It is about the masters tests from the monastery.
Even if you have completed all the tests, you are not able to complete the mission as nobody from the monastery will talk to you.
What can you do in this case?
There is a simple cheat that will pass this mission and you will be able to proceed further to Chapter II.
While being in game, type fast “minsky” and then also fast, press “Enter”.
This is the cheat command for Risen 1.
You need to type it very fast, try a couple of times.
If you got it, you will see on your screen that “test mode is activated” as a message.
Then, from the keyboard, press the “`” console button, the button from the keyboard that is placed on the left of “1”.
Or press “F1” (in some cases this is the button, in my case, it was “`”).
You will see a command window.
From there, type letter by letter, the command “setqueststatus Pallas_ReportToMasters succeed”.
And press “Enter”.
You will see on the screen that the masters mission is now completed.
Then you can go and talk with master Ignatius, and he will have new dialogue options for you.
It seems that Risen wasn’t that well tested and this bug exists on many versions of the game, even on the official game version from Steam.
This is basically a cheat, but you can’t do anything else outside reloading to an older save file and completing the monastery missions once again.
If you talk to all npcs from the monastery and none are talking to you, then proceed with this command.
Also, you might want to visit the Harbour town and talk to commandant Carlos and the mage master there.
