This could be either an easter egg or just a random thing that the Blizzard’s developers forgot in the game.
There is a big sphere / pearl at the bottom of Vashj’ir, more precisely, in “Abyssal Depths”, south west (at the edge).
This thing can be seen from far because has some sort of glowing effect. Around it, there are some giant dragon bones.
You can’t get close to that sphere as you will get fatigue, you can’t swim too much with the sea horse and you will die and respawn in Westfall (alliance) = westfall respawn point is ground zero to say so, the place you get in case of some sort of “reset”.
Another weird thing is that if you swim trough that object, after a few moments it will feel that you are still in the same place.
I used “Eagle Eye”, a hunter ability that allows to “view” far. Not even fast swimming druids can get to click that object or get near it.
