How NPCscan works?

How NPCscan works?

How to add a pet into the database?

Go to NPCSCAN from interface, addons and at search you will notice the bottom menu where it’s saying npc id, world and name.

For example you can find the npc id by going to wowhead and searching for the npc name (example: Magria should have the http://www.wowhead.com/npc=54319 where npc=54319 is the NPC ID), at world open the map and write what you see at “Continent”. At name, you can write the pet’s name. And click on + so the pet will be added to the database.

How to delete the cache file of NPCSCAN?

The file that needs to be deleted in case your pet was already tamed by someone else or you just missed becoming cached.
The file is located at Worldofwarcraft install folder\Cache\WDB\enGB\creaturecache.wdb
Replace enGB with enUS probably for the US players.
Nothing will change in the game except that the NPCSCAN cache will be reset and you can keep looking for your rare pet.

NPCscan is an wow addon that will help you track rare mobs, npcs.
This is the perfect addon for hunters mostly if they are after a spirit beast (they are all rare). Also can be used to track rare mobs from Outland and Northrend to get the achievements.

This latest version has a huge database of mobs, even those from Azeroth and the new Cataclysm zones.
First download NPCscan from here: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/npcscan.aspx
and just install it.

How NPCscan works? You won’t have to do anything in game, or modify its settings. It will alert you when you are near a rare mob that you might miss if you’re not paying attention.

It won’t just run a scan and tell you what rare mobs are now available, just work as an alert when you pass by a mob. It can make tracking mobs much more easier.
