7 reasons why Need for Speed Most Wanted (2012) is a fail!

Do you like to race?

Yes? Good luck then, you can’t really do that in Need for Speed Most Wanted. This game is just promoting the “no fun allowed” quote.

7 reasons why Need for Speed Most Wanted (2012) is a fail!

1. Crash, crash and crash. You will crash your car many times in this game. And most of the time, one crash is enough to lose a race. But most important is that you won’t play the game relaxed.

2. Pathing is a mess. We got those white lines as checkpoints. There are very few marks that are indicating where you have to go, sometimes if you miss the path, you lose the race. And is very frustrating.

There are few shortcuts and if you really try to take a shortcut there is a high chance to crash or miss the checkpoint.

3. Cars. This is a matter of taste actually but I don’t like some car brands. I don’t like Lamborghini, Bentley, Aston Martin etc. You have to play a lot to unlock some cars.. Where are Renault, BMW, my personal favorite Nissan Z 370, muscle cars, from start? We have kart cars instead.

More reasons

4. Cops. It is really hard to evade pursuits. Even if you have a fast car, you have almost no chance to evade by speed. There are no shortcuts or places where you can hide your car so things will cool.

And they cheat :).

5. No story. Even if is not that important in a racing game, a background story would have motivated the player to finish the game. I guess they have thought that without a story, the players can replay the game many times.

Also a NFS without a story after the previous “The Run” looks bad. Need for Speed The Run was a better game, but this is again a subjective opinion.

6. Speed and adrenaline. There is adrenaline but is not coming from speed. It comes from crashing or by trying to avoid crashing all the time.
Since all the game takes place inside a city, there is traffic, many walls, pillars and things in what you will crash your car.

7. Should I say that there is no tuning, no races that happen during night, no other environments besides the city.

What is your opinion about the game?
