Installing Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio SVF-1532G1EW, enter bios, drivers?

There are drivers only for Windows 7 64 bit. Do not try to install the 32 bit on this laptop.

How to enter BIOS?

Shut down the laptop.

Press the “Assist” button that is near the “Power” button.

The laptop will just start but it will display a different window from where you can select to enter bios.

What changes you need to make in BIOS in order to boot from the DVD-ROM?

You need to select the optical drive as your primary device. Use F5 and F6 to move the option up and down.

You need to select “Legacy” instead of “UEFI”.

Restart the laptop, it should now boot from the Windows 7 disk.

If you get this error:

“Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the gpt partition style”.

Do as in the video. But be careful, all the data from your laptop will be deleted (from all partitions).

I will just recreate the commands from the video.
Press Shift+F10 from the first window with the “Install” button.
Type: diskpart > type: list > type: select partition 0 > type: clean.

The Sony Vaio SVF-1532G1EW has drivers for Windows 7 64 bit. You can find all the drivers here.

After you have finished installing Windows, you can leave the BIOS settings as they are now. If you don’t have anything in your DVD-ROM, it won’t boot or do anything.

Also, the Sony Vaio software that appears when you start the laptop from the Assist button will still be there. You can enter bios also by pressing the Assist button.
