How to use an USB stick to expand your Ram memory with the ReadyBoost option?

Since Windows Vista, there is an option called “ReadyBoost”.

This options allows us to expand the RAM memory by using just an USB or an external Hard disk.

How it works?

With Windows running, connect your USB stick. From My Computer, right click on the USB Stick and click on “properties”.

Notice a tab called “ReadyBoost”. Click it. If your computer is eligible to use this option, you should see a setting there called “Use this device”. And you need to set the amount of disk space from the USB stick that will be used as RAM memory.

If your computer is too powerful and you run with 8-16 GB RAM, the ReadyBoost option will be unavailable.
