The official Android 5.0.2 version is available for Nexus 7 2012

Finally, after around 1 month since the 5.0.0 update, Google has released 5.0.2 for Nexus 7.

The update should appear as a notification on your tablet. It has around 14-15 MB but what is important is that it is finally fixing that lag.

Your tablet should work like a dream again, after the update, which will take around 15 minutes.

From what I’ve noticed, everything works very fast now, there is no delay. The only issue is still with Gmail which doesn’t want to work. I don’t get the notifications and when I open it and browse a bit, it crashes.

Anyway, except Gmail, the OS works perfect.

Google has skipped the 5.0.1 update for Nexus 2012, which was available only for the Nexus 2013.

Since 5.0, you should have learned your lesson. Be sure to check online before upgrading, to see if other users are reporting issues with the update.

For those who don’t know, Android 5.0 Lollipop has basically killed the performance of Nexus 7 2012.

Be sure to check our website when you see the future updates, 5.0.3 or 5.0.4. You will find information if the new update is worth or not.
