The best and fastest way is to charge your device to a normal power source. Also, when you plug your device and the screen turns on, press the side button to turn the screen off (the power off button).
You can do the same thing by using an USB cable connected to a PC or laptop but you should know that it takes much more time until your smartphone / tablet gets fully charged.
By USB, if the screen turns on for unknown reasons, it could take even 4 to 5 hours to get the device fully charged.
