How to transfer a domain from Godaddy to Name.com?

In order to transfer a domain from Godaddy to name.com, follow these steps.

Log into your Godaddy account

Go to My domains.

Check the domain that you want to transfer. By checking, I mean click on the checkbox associated with that domain.

With the domain selected, click on “Lock” and turn the option to “off” (so it will be unlocked).

Now click the domain. A new page with the domain’s details will open. The bottom option, “Authorization code”. Click on “e-mail my code”.

Close Godaddy.com, it won’t be needed anymore for now.

Go to name.com and log in

From the bottom of the page, see the “Transfer domains” link. Click on it.

Enter the name of your domain that you want to transfer, and the authorization code (you have received it in your e-mail box).

Next, disable the protection option so you won’t be extra charged.

Next step.

Enter your credit card information and click on “Complete Order”.
