Beach Buggy Blitz is developed by Vector Unit. The first thing that you notice when you run the game is the nVidia logo (Powered by NVIDIA TEGRA).
And the optimization is there, the game runs perfect on Nexus 7, these tablets having nVidia Tegra 3 processors.
The graphics are pretty awesome. The water looks incredible, almost as good as a pixel shader 2 – 3 water from a pc video game. Remember Morrowind? The water from Beach Buggy Blitz looks even better. Be sure to set the resolution to “higher resolution” once you start the game for the first time.
Physics? Nothing to complain, the car is easy to control. You can steer by tilting or by taping the screen.
The game has just one map with a “Time Attack” mode. “Time Attack” means that the player must reach a certain point before his time runs out. Besides driving, you also have to collect some golden coins that appear on the track. The coins can be used to buy “powerups”, new cars and skins for your driver.
The “powerups” can help you, you can get “speed boost”, “coin magnet”, but they require a lot of coins to unlock them. You basically have to do this race over and over again, on the same track, which can become really boring. The game needs like 3-4 more tracks to become really fun.
Overall, it’s a great game for kids, mostly because of the cartoonish graphics.
